<BR>Our skilled lighting designers are specialised in planning
interior and exterior lighting systems for all needs, ranging from living
room to retail up to historical town halls. They develop individual
lighting concepts with regard to the overall architectural and interior
design. In object and workplace design we make use of computer-assisted
light planning and calculation with the appropriate programmes (CAD,
Relux, Dialux).
Technically speaking, the term lamp refers to the actual
illuminant, e.g. incandescent lamps, halogen lamps, fluorescent lamps or
LEDs, as opposed to light fixtures such as ceiling lights, wall lights,
downlights or recessed spotlights.
Of course, the light fixtures offered have very different
light effects and distributions. Light fixtures with direct light
emission, often ceiling lights or spotlights with visible illuminants, can
be used for the direct (accentuated) illumination of objects. Other light
fixtures, such as wall lights or torchieres, emit light indirectly, their
illuminants are either not visible at all or only diffusely through a
glass shade and the light is reflected from wall or ceiling into the room.
This kind of light is regarded as very soft, but prevents the precise
perception of contours. In yet another kind of light fixtures the lamps
are covered by a glass pane or grid, so that one cannot see inside
directly and the light emission is directed (reduced glare) i.e. in grid
lights. This is especially important in office lighting. For more
information take a look at the note in the service section.
The effect of ceiling lights and light fixtures in general
depends to a great extend on the kind of lamp they are equipped with.
Dependent on the choice of lamp or illuminant is of course the power
consumption. For some lamps you can choose from various light colours such
as warm white, cool white or one similar to daylight. This is especially
true for fluorescent lamps, halogen lamps, discharge lamps, compact
fluorescent lamps (energy-saving lamps with various bases) and LED
lamps. Another important term is colour rendering, which is
classified in the so called Ra Index. The higher the index value of a
lamp, the more natural the colours of objects or of the surrounding area
appear.
